I see many use these tiny snippets to formulate opinions. Stir emotions with blinkered imagination.  Even with no personality encapsulated or projected many form opinions based on physical response to appearance. I see attributes given to these frozen, faceless moments, such as kindness, goodness, honesty.  Really?  Life is in perpetual motion, as are humans.

Those who radiate the light of true beauty are real posters, people unafraid to express themselves truthfully and honestly.  People who reveal themselves warts and all.

Honesty - A Mere Concept

I sat for hours today attempting to collate my thoughts, to enable the expression of  anger at the way a friend of mine has been mistreated.  At the injustice I see with trials she has had to face.  So, to begin with I will describe Shannon as I see her.

Shannon is a beautiful woman, mother, and wife, with sexuality oozing from her pores.  Not the sex kitten purr-purr kind, nor any vanilla mouse variety, but a sexuality that thrives and grows within her.  She exudes and experiences what most men and women fantasize about.  She shares her experiences, wit, intelligence, compassion, and, in general, down right common sense nature with many tumblr members (pun unintended).  To what avail?

I discovered that Shannon had been terminated from her employment as a night nurse due to the disclosure (by a supposed “friend”) of her tumblr site; a termination not due to lack of ability, skill, empathy, compassion, or reliability, but, rather one based solely on her lifestyle choice and the manner in which she chooses to express it.   Obviously, Shannon contained that within her private life and tumblr site, not on the job.  She was not approaching patients saying, “Look at my wondrous pussy,” or “Look at how I can suck cock.”  She was actually at work performing her duties to the best of her trained abilities with no complaints about how she did her job. I am angry because the organization that employed her purports itself to be “Christian.”  I do not have a problem with the religion, but, I do have a problem with those that wear religion on their sleeves yet fail to follow the beliefs.  The organization can only be seen as hypocritical. 

The Christian tenet of forgiveness is high on the list, is it not?  Tolerance?  Jesus embraced a prostitute, Mary Magdalene, did he not?  “Judge not lest you be judged yourself” is another value the faith adheres to, is it not?  So what’s the rub?  They have a hang-up with sex and nudity being dirty.  They view the context in which Shannon and others like her express themselves as immoral at the very least, evil at the worst, and that is how they can justify their intolerance.  They could have taken a more tolerant approach instead of the draconian action they chose to take by calling her into the office, yelling, berating her like a child - and then firing her.

Of course the employer will speak of maintaining a good reputation and its good name, etc., but that is only because they assume that if this “got out” people would somehow hold it against them.  “Turn the other cheek”, would have been more appropriate for a christian. 

My anger took control the more I thought of the honest and open expression Shannon shares (with her husband and his encouragement), and these sanctimonious bastards with their preconceived idea of right and wrong.  I will not even express what I think of the supposed friend, the page would be completely full of curses smeared with her blood and guts.

Warning, for any who are going to defend the christian values ($$$s) shown by this organization, I have two things to say to you.  Get off NSFW sites, - hypocrite and here is a fact, there are very few honest, open relationships destroying families, however, the same claim can not be said about breakdowns caused through secret sexual experiences.

They call her depictions pornography, I call them beauty.  I end this rant with I don’t lie, but they did when explanations were given to staff as to why Shannon was dismissed.  “Thou shalt not lie.”

I Should Not Think. I Think?

Unfortunately, those that know me in person tend to suffer from what I call my pop thoughts.  An idea just appears in my head, and I run with it.  It usually is nonsensical, but I enjoy dissecting all aspects of the initial thought; and by writing I come to an understanding within myself. So look at this as, a sharing of thought.

Like I said, it is very troublesome for those around me as they refuse to discuss in any depth my thoughts, pushing them away as being stupid or utterly worthless to my or their world. However, I am tenacious.  Like a mongrel dog worrying over a bone, I persist.

So, considering the amount of time I spend enjoying the cyber highlights, connections, whatever word or words you wish to describe the interaction that has become so common and prevalent, I  began pondering web interactions due to personal experiences and the opinions of other bloggers. 

The initial interaction seems to begin with admiration of the physical, intellect, or wit of one for another.  The usual scenario is the physical aspect.  A relationship grows through words of admiration, and it seems that the primal animal instinct in one or both evolves.  Some become deeply infatuated whether they intended or not.  It is not surprising when they find the right combination of stimulus.  They hook up in the cyber sense.  Going through the motions and actions of a new courtship, of course, minus the actual physical contact. 

A new relationship when one’s eyes are shrouded with rose colored glasses is short lived in many real life romances.  The initial desirability of your chosen significant other dims, the rush, the throbbing within once felt, when you heard or saw the person, is replaced with the occasional flash back of what was or is experienced rarely.  Finally I get to my pop thought(s)…sorry.  Are web connections so powerful due to the fact that you only get to see what the other is willing to project as being who and what they are?  A facade?  And if so, why do they need to project an illusion?  As there are so many beautiful women/men who have prior partners that are all too quick to give a response of “glad I got rid of that bitch/bastard”.  Or is the desire to experience the touch, kiss, caress, or sexual experience with the person the driving force of intense desire?  If you answer “Yes,” are you not in fact infatuated with your own imagination unless you are willing to commit yourself to the next level?  Obviously, that being to actually meet in person not via screen, picture, email etc.

Long live - pop thoughts.  :D  Lastly, thank goodness there are some very real people (you know who you are) with honest, original intensity tumblrs in my universe.

I write this as I read ever increasing debasing comments on posts of those who choose to be “au naturale”. Everyone has preferences and opinions which should be respected, not judged.
